Akela Amazing-Curls, in the early days also called 'the sassy girl' is the start of this beautiful story getting to know the rare original breed Curly Coated Retriever and wanting to explore more.
Our Story
Akela was born in 2021 in a lovely family in Germany while we were looking for a good hunting dog as well as a lovely family dog to come home with. It was a perfect match! Owning a rare breed was a bonus.

Curly coated retrievers are the oldest retrievers bred for hunting and retrieving fowl and prey, especially from the water as these are hardy dogs that are very loyal to their owners who love to swim. In addition they are lovely family dogs, great with children and not demanding the exercise a working dog needs.

So has Akela proven to be a great dog for us, loving to retrieve from the water and working in the woods as well as bringing comfort and love to our home.
Over the years we have been asked many times from acquaintances as well as strangers who she immediately made friends with, if we would breed with her as they all would love to have such a best friend. So here we are, embarking on this adventure, hoping we'll find the most loving homes for our sassy girls (and boys).
